Two new Liebherr's for Kavanagh

With its headquarters in Gorey, County Wexford and four other depots, Kavanagh covers the whole of Ireland with a fleet of 54 mobile cranes.

Commenting on the recent additions to the hire fleet, company director Paul Kavanagh said: “We are now operating 13 Liebherr cranes and the 160 tonner is now our biggest Liebherr model. The inclusion of the MK 110 Construction Crane also gives us an ability to provide excellent height and reach for restricted building sites – especially on inner city work where space is at a premium. Being self-erecting, the MK 110 allows us move onto site and be operational very quickly, which is a great advantage for this kind of application.”

Kavanagh Crane Hire’s Liebherr LTM 1160-5.1 has a 62 metre main boom and a 12.2 to 22 metre swingaway extension, which can be offset to 22.5 and 45 degrees. Maximum lifting capacities on the main boom are 160 tonnes at three metre radius and 1.7 tonnes at a maximum working radius of 58 metres. On maximum extension, the capacity is 1.1 tonne at 70 metres radius.

The Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 features a 60 metre main boom with 130 tonnes at three metres radius to 1.9 tonnes at 56 metres radius.

The five axle MK 110 has a 52 metre jib can be luffed to 45º producing a maximum under-hook height of 68 metres. Maximum capacity is 1,800kg at 52 metres radius.
