The Bill and Hewden

The UK police series The Bill took over rental company Hewden’s depot in Mitcham to film part of an episode.

The South London depot was host to members of the cast and production team filming up-and-coming storylines for the programme, with the inclusion of three Hewden employee’s as extra’s.

Filming at Hewden's Mitcham depot

Alan Denyer, Stephen Weston, both fitters, and David O’Neill, foreman at the depot, took part in scenes with Roberta Taylor (Inspector Gina Gold) and Grahame Fox (Dave Vance).

Depot manager, Steve Sparrow (no relation to our publisher) said, “It was great fun having all the characters filming at the depot and the guys really enjoyed playing extras. I’m fortunate to work with some fantastic people at Hewden and my biggest problem now is keeping the staff. I think one or two of them fancy themselves as the next PC Reg Hollis!”
