50th LS 250 for Germany

German maritime company Briese Schiffahrt has taken delivery of the 50th 250 tonne LS 250 Liebherr ship crane.

The LS 250 - set to be installed on the BBC Shanghai vessel in China - offers a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tonnes with 36 metre maximum outreach. Features include hydraulic piping, fully enclosed crane columns and Liebherr's Litronic control system providing real time operating data.

Bernd Böning of Briese Schiffahrt said: “We are highly satisfied with the performance of the LS 250 ship cranes, offering excellent deck coverage and a balanced combination of outreach and lifting capacities.”

Liebherr application manager for heavy lift offshore and ship cranes, Robert Pitschmann added: “The delivery of the 50th LS 250 ship crane is more than a number. Founded in 1984 and based in Leer, northwest Germany, Briese Schiffahrt runs a fleet of 130 vessels with a team of 225 employees.
