Alimak has hired Karin Bååthe as executive vice president of its Construction division, she will take up the appointment on the 7th of April. In her new role, she will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and be part of the group leadership team.

Bååthe will join the company from Sandvik Mining & Rock, where she is regional chief executive of the Ground Support (DSI Underground) division for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
She began her career in 2009 as an associate with international management consultants McKinsey, leaving after three years to join steel maker SSAB initially as a business developer, but moved up through the organisation to become an acting divisional chief executive. After six years with the SSAB, she moved to financial services company Tink, but the following year decided to set up her own independent consultancy Vadholma. Six months later she was lured back to SSAB as strategy director, leaving for Sandvik in 2021.

On her arrival, David Batson, the incumbent since 2021, who is based in Australia, will take up a new role as director of the Asia Pacific region within the Construction division, reporting to Bååthe.
