Crane tips in Texas

A six axle All Terrain crane was involved in an accident on Saturday in St Juan Texas, when it tipped over while installing a septic tank and sewer pipes.

Views from the scene suggest that the ground gave way under the rear of the crane, although local reports claim it was overloaded. The cranes boom crashed across a road narrowly missing a passing car.

The two occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment along with the crane driver who sprained his ankle after jumping from his cab as the crane went over.

The crane’s boom also snapped a power line, leaving the surrounding neighborhood without electricity.
The crane is owned by LA Crane Company of Corpus Christi Texas.
