Another Cat fdealer for Faresin

Italian telehandler manufacturer Faresin has appointed the Turkish Caterpillar distributor, Borusan Cat, as the exclusive distributor for its construction and agricultural telehandlers in Turkey.

The agreement initially covers all of Turkey, but the longer term plan is to extend the exclusive agreement to countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan, assuming all goes well in the short term.

This is the second major Caterpillar distributor that Faresin has teamed up with. Just over a year ago, it reached an agreement with German Cat distributor Zeppelin to manufacture and supply it with Zeppelin branded telehandlers. See: Faresin builds for Zeppelin.

Faresin’s announcement said: “Turkey represents a strategic market with strong and rapidly expanding demand in both the construction and agricultural sectors. This partnership combines Faresin's technological expertise with Borusan Cat's extensive sales network, strengthening Faresin’s presence in a key market for Eastern Europe and the Middle East.”

Faresin, vice president Silvia Faresin added: "We are proud of this collaboration with Borusan Cat, which represents a decisive step to expand our leadership in telehandlers and a strategic milestone in our international development plan. Our products will perfectly complement Borusan's offering, meeting the needs of Turkish industrial, construction, rental and agricultural operators."

Borusan Cat’s sales director Aslan Hiçsolmaz said: "This partnership with Faresin has allowed us to enter decisively into the telehandler segment, with both diesel and full electric models, offering a wide range of solutions capable of meeting our customers' diverse operational needs. Leveraging our solid sales and support infrastructure, we aim to create long-term value in this segment."

Founded in 1944 by Asım Kocabıyık, to trade and later manufacture steel products, the group set up Borusan Cat in 1994, when it obtained the Caterpillar dealership. It is based in the Istanbul suburb of Başakşehir located on the north west side of the city. It employs 3,000 and represents Caterpillar in six countries.
