Finnish spider lift manufacturer Leguan Lifts has announced a multi-phase investment of around €10 million in a new production facility. It is hoped that the new plant will begin production in August.

The first phase involves the construction of a manufacturing line to make assembly more efficient, while also ramping up its production capacity. The company says the new factory layout will also incorporate improved material flows over its current facility, with more assembly stations. All of which ios aimed at meeting a growing demand for its platforms.
Esa Vuorela
Managing director Esa Vuorela said: “We have gained the trust of our customers across all industries with our exceptional All Terrain series, and we see a lot of returning customers looking for more machines to expand their Leguan fleets. This investment allows us to scale production to meet that demand while creating a modern environment that supports operational excellence, high quality standards, while helping us to prepare for future innovations.”
The new showroom
A later phase of the project will include plans for a new showroom and updated office space, along with a showroom that can also host events and training courses.
In the last few years Leguan has gone from being a slightly sleepy niche manufacturer of skid steer spider lifts, to an active player in the international spider lift market, with the introduction of its All Terrain range topped by the 25 metre Leguan265, and more recently the 17 metre 170, with an all electric model on the way, as well as dealer appointments in Hungary and New Zealand. Last year it saw its revenues jump 50 percent and thanks to improved marketing, has increased brand awareness immeasurably.
