250t Tadano for SVMM

French crane and access rental company and steel erector S.V.M.M. (Societe Valenciennoise de Montage & de Maintenance) has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Tadano AC 5.250L‑2 All Terrain crane.

Launched at Bauma last year the five axle AC 5.250L‑2 features a 79 metre eight section main boom with a range of 5.8 to 30 metre lattice extensions, taking the maximum tip height to 112 metres. The crane also includes Tadano’s IC 1 Plus and Surround View systems, as well as the Eco mode and a start-stop function for reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.
On its first job

The new crane went straight to work and is said to be in great demand thanks to its combination of reach, capacity, and relative ease of travel on the road across the company’s territory in the Hauts-de-France region.

Director Arnaud Brouillard, who runs S.V.M.M. with brother Michel Brouillard said: “The AC 5.250L 2 was exactly what we were looking for in a five axle crane. Its load charts, long main boom, and overall versatility make it a very efficient crane for our day to day operations. Based on its first few jobs, our teams are very happy with its performance and ease of use.”

Jean Marie Grossmann of Tadano France added: “We are delighted that S.V.M.M. has chosen the AC 5.250L 2 and that the crane is already proving its worth. This model is an excellent fit for S.V.M.M.’s applications, and we are proud to be able to provide them with a solution that fits their needs so well.”

Founded in 1995, S.V.M.M. is based in the Marly suburb of Valenciennes to the south of Lille on the Belgian border. Today, it runs a fleet of cranes from seven to 500 tonnes capacity, along with a modest fleet of aerial work platforms, while also carrying out steel frame building assembly.
