Kranenbouw takes over STK Stravers

Kranenbouw has taken over STK (Stravers Transmate Kranen) making it one of the biggest tower crane rental companies in the Netherlands. The combined fleet now totals more than 150 tower cranes as well as an extensive service and maintenance team.

Kranenbouw - formed in 1969 and with headquarters in Bergeijk, has a long history of renting out and servicing tower cranes in the Netherlands as well as Belgium and Germany. It also sells used and refurbished tower cranes worldwide.

As an independent rental company, Kranenbouw has built up a fleet that consists of Liebherr, Comansa, Peiner, Saez and Jost cranes. The company is also the Saez dealer for self erecting cranes and telehandlers as well as dealer for Platform Basket self propelled aerial work platforms in the Benelux countries.

It also manufactures Jost flat top cranes under license, selling them to rental companies all over Europe.

Formed in the 1980’s, STK Travers began as a specialist in maintaining construction machinery on a regional scale. It has since developed its tower crane business, running projects all over the world and providing a wide range of services and equipment. In 2002 it became the importer of Terex-Comedil in Holland.

Stravers Transmate Kranen has probably one of the most modern fleets of flat top cranes in the Netherlands which mainly consists of the Terex Comedil CTT range as well as some Liebherr, Jaso and Jost cranes delivered by Kranenbouw.

STK also distributes and maintains Terex Peiner cranes and Geda hoists.

Berry Stravers will head the rental and sales departments with particular emphasis on rental. As one of the key players in the group he will play an important role in the merger and expansion of the new group.

In a statement released today, Kranenbouw said: “As a new company our goal will be to approach new markets by expanding our core business in other countries in Europe and in the Middle East based on the long experience of Kranenbouw in these countries. We have created a strong platform to supply the needs of our customers in the Netherlands and abroad.”
