Bobcat West Midlands will be responsible for selling and servicing the full Bobcat range in Birmingham and the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. Though the new operation follows the model used for establishing stores elsewhere in Europe, Bobcat West Midlands will not be offering equipment for rent, but will instead concentrate on sales and service of the complete Bobcat range within its proscribed territory.

In addition to local distribution the location will also support Bobcat’s Strategic & National Account customers as well as helping support Bobcat’s dealer network.

The manager of the new operation is Graham Haigh, his team includes: Brendan Donnelly, who joins Bobcat from SGB as regional sales manager. Julie Walker has joined the team from Ontime Automotive as strategic account manager South UK & Ireland. David Hignett previously with the Royal Air Force comes on board as workshop manager with Mark Evans Wayne Hartill and John Newton supporting the parts and service activity.

Helen Small is sales and general administration supervisor, while Valerie Price will handle strategic & national accounts administration.

Bobcat is celebrating the new facility with open days on Wednesday 21st May and Thursday 22nd May from 10:00 to 19:00 on both days. As well as having the chance to view the new depot, and meet the team, the company is also organising the first Bobcat Driver Competition in the UK, where entrants will get a chance to try out their skills at driving a new Bobcat skid-steer loader around a designated circuit against the clock.

Alternatively operators can try their hand at the controls of one of Bobcat’s latest mini-excavator models to test their skills against other competitors for a chance to win the Bobcat West Midlands Mini-Excavator Driver Trophy.

Haigh said: “We look forward to welcoming visitors to the Open Days at Bobcat West Midlands and we’re thrilled about giving visitors a chance to take part in our first UK Drivers Competitions over the course of the two days. We would like to meet with business principals and their staff from every area from builders, construction contractors, utility companies and the rental sector to farmers, landscapers, recycling companies and general industry.”
