Fatal trapping for erector

A 44 year old tower crane erector, Denis Umanzor, died yesterday after he was pinned between the end jib section and mid jib pendant mast, while dismantling a tower crane in Parole Maryland.

Rope rescue services were initially called in to rescue Umanzor, after he was reported to be trapped, however they soon realised that it was too late.

Reports from the area suggest that part of the dismantle process got out of sequence, resulting in Ulmanzor being pinned between the mast and the jib tip which was clearly pulled well above the horizontal to create the trapping point with the mast.
