Bronto sets new record

Bronto the Finnish based manufacturer of truck mounted aerial work platforms is working on a new straight telescopic boom lift that will, when launched be the highest ever built.

The new model, the S 78 XDT will offer a maximum working height 78 metres, some eight metres higher than the current tallest. The new unit will weigh just under 41 tonnes and can be mounted to four or five axle trucks.

The overall length will be around 13 metres, depending on chassis used, with transport height below four metres. Outreach will exceed 35 metres, while maximum platform capacity will be 700 kg.

The first unit is scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2009.
