New chair for ZF

ZF the truck, crane and off-road transmission company has appointed Proffessor Giorgio Behr as the new chairman of its supervisory board.

Behr, 59, a well known Swiss entrepreneur, succeeds Rainer Thieme who is no longer available to continue in the post.has a strong track record in consultancy having worked with KPMG and the Hesta Group.

In 1984 he founded the consulting company BDS. In 1991, he restructured various companies which he merged in his own business, Behr Bircher Cellpack BBC. Until 2007 he was President of the Saurer Group and served on the Administrative Board of Hilti.

Giorgio Behr


Behr was given the title of professor emeritus in 2005 by the University of St Galleb for Business Studies. He has represented Switzerland on international accounting boards at the United Nations as well as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), form 2005 to 2007 he was president of the "Treuhandkammer" (Swiss Association of Auditors and Tax Experts).
