New CEO for Gottwald
The Advisory Board of Gottwald Port Technology, a subsidiary of Demag Cranes has appointed a new chief executive and made a number of senior appointments to its executive management team.
Dr. Robert Wassmer, 44, joined the company on June first and took over as chief executive officer earlier this week, he will also join the management team of the holding company Demag Cranes.
Wassmer was most recently a business consultant specialising in profitability improvement and remediation projects. Prior to that the held management positions at various companies including MAG Industrial Automation Systems, Bombardier and the Daimler Group.

Dr. Mathias Dobner, 47, the current CEO and until now the sole member of Gottwald’s executive management team, moves to the post of chief operating officer and chief technical officer.
Stefan Weckermann, 41, joins the executive management team as chief financial officer. He most recently held the positions of group controller at Demag Cranes and director of business administration at Gottwald Port Technology.
Gottwald Port Technology is based in Düsseldorf, Germany, with a population of over 1,200 Mobile Harbour Cranes, it claims to be the world market leader for this type of crane. In 2007 it generated around €300 million with 800 employees.
