Cranes2u.com take Maeda

FSR Maintenance, the Hampshire based industrial engineering and heavy lifting specialists, has become the latest company to join the Maeda Rental Network in the UK. The company has purchased two 3.8 tonne capacity Maeda MC405CRM(E) spider cranes from Kranlyft UK.

The acquisition of the cranes marks the inauguration of a new division within the company, which will trade under the name “cranes2u.com”. At the official launch of the new business, the manoeuvrability of the small footprint crawler crane was demonstrated to the wide range of guests.

Part of the Demonstration involved one of the new Maeda’s hoisting the prized sports car of Mark Roberts, director of cranes2u.com, into the air outside his premises in Waterlooville, Hampshire. The Gentry, is a replica of a 1953 MGTF, and was raised on a specially constructed lifting frame.

FSR also operates a number of loader cranes which it keeps busy with appllicatiosn such as industrial removals.

Roberts, director of both cranes2u.com and FSR Maintenance said: “Our new initiative dovetails well with our existing business. It fills a void in the marketplace that has evolved due to the demands of legislation relating to the safety of lifting operations. Modern materials and innovative design techniques have allowed both architects and engineering designers alike to push the boundaries of technology within the construction and engineering industries, which in turn has placed huge demands on work equipment providers to make available specialist equipment that is capable of satisfying these demands and in doing so improve the standards of safety within the workplace. “

“As a long-standing Hampshire business dedicated to providing a range of mobile engineering support services to business in the UK and Western Europe for more than 40 years, it was a natural progression for us to move into the mini crawler crane industry. We believe that Mini Crawler Cranes and in particular the Maeda range, satisfy many of these demands and offer unique solutions, as well as affordable hire costs”.
