KDM Hire wins at ERA

Cookstown, Co.Tyrone-based KDM Hire has won the ‘European Rental Company of the Year 2008’ at the European Rental Awards, staged recently in Amsterdam. The award was for rental companies with less than 10 depots.

Last November the company was voted Northern Ireland Plant Hire Company of the Year. Since starting in 1990 and hiring into to the Cookstown and mid Ulster area, the business has grown to become one of the largest plant hire companies in Ireland.

Having invested £3 million in the past year, the company currently employs 80 people across two sites in Cookstown and Mallusk servicing customers throughout Ireland and UK in the construction, utilities, manufacturing, industrial and events sectors.

“With our Specialist Divisions covering the rental of Powered Access, Generators, Portable Cabins & Toilets and Material Handling Equipment such as Forklifts and Warehouse Equipment we are in effect, a one stop shop for all equipment hire needs," said Keith McIvor, managing director of KDM Hire. “

Mr McIvor is predicting continued growth for KDM Hire despite the current downturn in the house building sector in Ireland.
“There is still substantial growth in the commercial sector requiring specialist hire equipment that KDM can offer and also an increase in sporting and musical events for which we can provide the complete package in terms of cabins/offices, portable toilets, generators and fencing.”
