New Potain dealers for North America

The Manitowoc Crane Group has appointed three new Potain self erecting tower crane dealers in North America.

Salt Lake City based Bronson Crane, a tower crane specialist, will represent the line throughout the state of Utah, the company has several Potain cranes in its growing tower crane rental fleet, including the HD 40, Igo 50, Igo 36 and Igo T85 models. It is now actively pursuing sales opportunities. The family-owned company is run by Earl and Jan Bronson.

Joe Maslizek, regional business manager for the Potain self-erecting crane line, said:“Earl Bronson is an experienced crane professional and he has shared that experience to create a solid rental company and dealership. The company’s commitment to service combined with its excellent knowledge of crane technology will prove invaluable for customers in the territory. We are looking forward to our partnership together.”

Phoenix based Compass Equipment has been appointed to cover the state of Arizona, the company is run by Kelly Hadland, a former Manitowoc employee and a registered professional engineer, who knows the Potain self-erecting crane line extremely well.

The company is a start-up business and has chosen to focus on self-erecting cranes. It has already established a small rental fleet and is now actively pursuing sales and rental opportunities.

In Ohio the Capital City Group of Columbus, one of the Midwest’s leading crane rental companies will cover the Potain self erecting line throughout the state. The family owned rental company was founded by Chet Gibson in 1993 and diversified into architectural and structural pre-cast concrete and structural steel erection in 2000. The company already has a number of Potain self-erecting cranes in its 50 crane fleet.

Capital City Group's new facility


The Group has already ordered a number of additional cranes from Potain for its rental fleet, and is actively marketing the cranes to its customer base. The company has recently moved into a new, larger 10 acre facility to accommodate its new sales business.

Craig Minnich, eastern regional business manager for Manitowoc, said: “Capital City has a great reputation and big ambitions, it has already established a great business in a competitive market and is extremely motivated to grow the business further.”
