Spiderman crane protest cripples Tower Bridge

The area around London's Tower Bridge was brought to a standstill on Friday morning after a protestor climbed one of the tower cranes on a construction site, for the second time
in six months.

Police closed off roads in the area, one of the main routes from south London into the city, after protestors representing Fathers for Justice climbed up the crane on St Katherine's Way.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they had been called to the site at 5.30 am on Friday morning to deal with a single protestor 30m up the crane on Taylor Woodrow's £100 million K2 office development.

A spokeswoman for Taylor Woodrow confirmed that the man, who is dressed as spiderman, had been seen at four o'clock on Friday morning.

They added that it was unclear whether or not it is the same protestor who invaded the site back in June.

After the prvious incident Taywood said that it would not press charges against a man who brought the St Katherine's Dock site to a standstill. The man, also protesting for Fathers rights, ended his protest after spending 16 hours on the crane.
