New director for A-Plant powered Access

A-Plant, Ashtead’s UK rental business has promoted Steve King to the new position of sales director for the company's Powered Access business, part of its specialist products division. At the same time the company is investing over £10 million in access equipment

King was previously field sales manager for A-Plant Powered Access and won this year's A-Plant sales manager of the year award, which gives him the use of a brand new BMW Series 3 convertible for a year.

King joined A-Plant 11 years ago, manning the hire desk at A-Plant's Northampton Powered Access depot. In his new role he will join the management board of A-Plant Specialist Products.
King said: "No other company can offer the quality and average age of the A-Plant Powered Access fleet. The powered access investment has also been accompanied by the purchase of specialised delivery vehicles allowing A-Plant to deliver machines more quickly and take on more work from customers requiring early deliveries."

The latest investment takes the company’s investment in powered access to well over £30 million over the past 36 months, making its 2,000 plus fleet one of the youngest in the industry.
