Kalmar acquires Argentinean distributor

Kalmar the reach-stacker and port services division of Cargotec, has acquired Equipos y Servicios para Terminales y Puertos, its distributor in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Equipos was established in Buenos Aires in 2001 and distributes Kalmar, Steelbro -the New Zealand based manufacturer of truck mounted container loaders – principally side loaders, Sisu tractors and Magnum reefers. The company had revenues in 2007 of around €1 million and currently employs 17.

Kalmar plans to use the acquisition to increase its penetration of the South American market.
