A spokesman for the main contractors on the site, Michael McNamara and Company, said: “The incident is being investigated by the company and the Health and Safety Authority were notified immediately.”

The Health & Safety Authority (HSA) said that it had been notified and that an investigation is underway. At this stage we have no details on what caused the Kobelco cranes boom to come down.
