Access Link meets MEC
Aerial lift and telehandler manufacturer MEC hosted the quarterly meeting of the UK’s Access Link earlier this week at the Lions Quay Hotel in Oswestry Shropshire.
In addition to providing the meeting room, MEC provided a private exhibition of their products, including models from its range of electric and diesel scissor lifts. Martin Davies the MEC’s UK director and Jim Tolle, president of world sales played hosts to the meeting which included a presentation on the companies product range policies and strategies.

The Link meeting got through a wide agenda of subjects including discussions on a number of new membership applications, the results of which will be announced as soon as the fine details are completed.
Tolle, visiting from MEC’s US headquarters in Fresno California said: “The evening session was a real ‘eye-opener’ for me, I probably understood one word out five of what was being said, mostly by Barry Brady of Elavation."
The members largely small to medium regional access specialists, said that they had been impressed with MEC’s simple and back to basics approach to its engineering with minimal electronics and widely available common parts and components.
The sun even shone for them … a rarity this year in the UK.
