The Liebherr LHM400

The 200th crane was delivered to Patrick Stevedoring's Port Kembla site, 80 kilometres south of Sydney.

The cranes principle work will involve handling cargo from one of the ports key clients - Bluescope Steel. The Liebherr’s capacity will allow the consistent double lifting of steel coils and slabs weighing 54 tonnes greatly increasing productivity.

At the recent commissioning ceremony in Port Kembla, Patrick auto bulk & general division's general manager, Steven Ford said: "The introduction of world's best standard stevedoring equipment in the LHM 400S Mobile Harbour Crane is an important occasion for Patrick Stevedoring. This day has been some 18 months in the making and it signifies a vote of confidence by the board of Asciano our parent company in our Port Kembla team. We greatly look forward to the significant productivity and safety improvements the Liebherr crane will bring to our business as we continue to build on our stevedoring service excellence.”
