Wimbledon Doubles

A pair of Ainscough Crane Hire’s 500 tonne Liebherr LTM 1500 All Terrain cranes have just spent five days on the sidelines of Centre court, Wimbledon installing the new sliding roof on the famous venue.

The main lifts consisted of three 80 metre long trusses weighing 67 tonnes each. These enormous trusses were assembled on the ground next to each other and adjacent to the back of the Centre court stand.

The two cranes were each rigged with a 36.9 metre main booms, operating at an angle of 83 degrees, topped with 35 metre luffing jibs.
