Manitowoc cleared to acquire Enodis

Crane company Manitowoc has received US approval to go ahead with the acquisition of food equipment company Enodis as long as the company divests itself of the Enodis ice machine operations in the United States following completion of the Acquisition.

EU approval has already been given, so the only formality that remains is for a U.K. Court to sanction the scheme at the Scheme Court Hearing in order to de list the shares. The hearing will take place on October 22, 2008 and October 24, 2008.

This should clear everything for completion by the end of the month.
