Joop and Evie Kors prepare for the ground breaking ceremony

Kors was founded in 1983 by Joop and Evie Kors in a barn in the village of Willemsoord
close to city of Steenwijk in the North West part of Holland. They began in the access business by selling ladders and small scaffolds on a commission basis. The company grew rapidly and just two years later they started renting and selling aerial lifts, winning dealerships from Skyjack and Omme, both of which they still represent.

Along the way the company relocated to its current premises in the village of De Blesse, but have now outgrown them and thus purchased the new plot just off the A32 highway towards Leeuwarden at the Steenwijk exit.

The third reason for the event was to announce the new aerial lift producer, Bear Heavy Equipment of Rotterdam. Bear’s first product, a crawler mounted 15.2 metre platform height telescopic boom lift, has been developed in close co-operation with Kors.
The new boom, the T17J, features a very simple two section boom and jib, with 350 kgs lift capacity, powered by a Yanmar diesel and weighing just over nine tonnes.
