Today’s example of poor and dangerous working practice comes from a construction site at a steel works in Barsinghausen, Germany.

The incident was caught on camera last week, as the sites sign and fencing was being erected.

Excavator as a crane and a bucket for a platform

An excavator was equipped with a set of chains to do the lifting, while a Manitou MRT 360 degree telehandler equipped with a shovel bucket, serves as a work platform. The man unhooking the chains – the slinger – kneels in the bucket probably because it feels safer? Or maybe he is praying that he will get down safely?
