Purple lifts

Duke Aerial Equipment of Omaha Nebraska has painted 25 of its booms and scissors purple to help raise funds for and raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.

Duke Aerial is donating 10 percent of each purple lift rental toward the Linda Tolton Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation, which supports and funds pancreatic cancer research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Linda Tolton is the wife of Ken Tolton, one of the company’s owners, she began treatment for the disease in August.

Duke Aerial operates a fleet of 2,000 lifts from locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs in Nebraska. Des Moines and Atlantic in Iowa, and Kansas City and St. Joseph in Missouri. The company runs mostly JLG products, including telehandlers.

UPDATE
Linda Tolton died in January 2009, just six months into her battle with cancer, she was just 45, she did see the first purple aerial lift go into service.
