Failed sling proves fatal

A 46 year old man died yesterday while helping unload crane sections from a trailer. Local reports say that a set of web slings failed while loading a 22 tonne section dropping the load onto the man, larter named as Steven H. Woods of ANR Craning, of Lewiston, Idaho.

This crane dropped its load after a set of slings broke

The incident is being investigated by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries, the Whitman County Coroner and the Whitman County Sheriff's Office.

The crane? looks like a Grove TM800 on an 8x4 carrier.
