UpRight reports 18 per cent rise in revenues
UpRight International Manufacturing Ltd, the main trading company of the UpRight Group has announced that revenues for the first six months of the fiscal year to the end of December 2003 are up 18 per cent on the same period of last year.
The company has seen increased sales across all product ranges, including alluminium towers. UpRight’s European plant saw a significant rise in electric scissor lift production, while sales of its American-built boom lifts reached highest levels for over a year.
John Coughlan, president of UpRight said, “Since December, every area of the UpRight business has been operating profitably, including North America, Europe, Asia, Japan and South America. We are seeing the best results since 2000. The trend also seems to be continuing with 110 per cent of February's sales targets already achieved!."
The company also said that it will be launching a number of new products at Bauma, some of which might surprise people.
“In the US, we have remodeled the sales organisation and I believe that we have a more focused approach with a lean and aggressive team in place,” continued Coughlan.
When asked about the future of the companies Madera plant, Coughlan said that while no one can promise forever, the company has a clear strategy and is building more booms there now than for at least 12 months. "The US business is now profitable. Some of the new products at Bauma, such as a new 40 ft plus boom lift, have been designed in the US and will be built there."
"You will also see some major changes and improvements to our customer support and parts services in the weeks and months ahead, while it might seem that we have been quiet over the past few months I can tell you we have been very busy," he said.
