Speedy appoints new director

Speedy Hire, the UK’s largest equipment rental company has appointed James Morley as a non-executive director.

Morley is a chartered accountant with 25 years experience as a director of both listed and private companies. Most recently, he was chief operating officer of Primary Insurance Group, prior to which he was group finance director at Cox Insurance Holdings (2002-2005), group finance director at Arjo Wiggins Appleton (1999 - 2001) and group executive director -finance at Guardian Royal Exchange (1990 - 1999).

He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co and was both deputy chief executive and group finance director at Avis Europe, where he worked from 1976 to 1989.

Morley currently holds non executive directorships at Clarkson Plc, Costain Group plc, The Innovation Group plc and WS Atkins plc and was a non executive directorship at The Bankers Investment Trust Plc until early 2008.
