Bauma Conexpo tie up
Messe München owner of Bauma and the American Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) which organises Conexpo, have reached an agreement on closer cooperation in organising international construction machinery exhibitions.
The first benefits of this will be a new exhibition ‘bC India – A bauma Conexpo show'. The show is scheduled to take place for the first time in February 2011 in Mumbai. The organisers plan to establish a joint venture to run the show.
Eugen Egetenmeir, deputy managing director of Messe München said: "Industry has given a positive response to the idea of an international trade fair for the construction industry in India. Through the cooperation between Messe München and AEM, the new event is set to quickly establish itself as an international platform.”
Dennis Slater, president of AEM, added: “Both Messe München and AEM are leaders in establishing and producing world-class exhibitions. Our cooperation will bring a combined international expertise to the Indian marketplace, for the benefit of bC India participants and the involved industry.”
Vertikal Comment
This is a refreshing piece of news, AEM has been busy launching new exhibitions, often in competition with existing shows, such as Conexpo Asia in China where Bauma China was already well established and Conexpo Russia which went almost head to head with CTT.
Hopefully by working together everyone will benefit from having one really good international show in such markets focusing attention for exhibitors and visitors alike. Hopefully this new spirit of pragmatism and co-operation will spill over into China and Russia.
