CAT appoints high profile director

Ambassador Susan Schwab, U.S. trade representative from 2006 to 2009, has been appointed as an independent director of Caterpillar Inc, effective June 1, with a term expiring at the Annual General Meeting 2010.

In conjunction with Schwab’s appointment the Caterpillar board voted to increase the number of directors from 14 to 15. The board has not yet decided on which of the board’s four standing committees Schwab will serve.
