New MD at HEK
Frank Klessens has been appointed as managing director of Alimak Hek mast climbers and hoists, in Holland, taking over from Ernst van Hek who has retired for personal reasons.
Alimak Hek, Netherlands includes the Hek mast climber manufacturing operation and a rental business covering the Benelux region. The two operations will be combined into a single business unit, however, manufacturing will continue in Middelbeers, while the rental operation will continue to be based in Waalwijk.

Klessens has many years of experience at Alimak Hek and has previously held positions such as controller for Hek Manufacturing, chief financial officer for Hek International Group, and head of business area rental and used sales for the Alimak Hek Group, a position he will maintain.
Speaking of his new appointment he said: “It’s going to be a challenging task to take over after Ernst van Hek, but I have worked closely with Ernst during many years and will do my best to continue the development of the company. It’s a tough market out there, but with our new products and ambitious team of people, I’m confident we will continue to be in a leading position also in the future.”
Ernst van Hek is leaving Alimak Hek due to personal reasons initiated by a tragic accident within the family.

After 30 years in this business, it’s in any case time to move on into a new direction and capitalize on the experience I have gathered from the journey through a family owned business, a large Group (Thyssen), and ownership by a private equity company.”
