Ainscough’s first big crawler on its way

The first of Ainscough’s big crawler cranes, a Terex Demag CC2500 ordered last August, is now being prepared for its first job, a long term project in the UK. The crane was originally scheduled for delivery later in the year.

The 500 tonne CC2500, one of two on order, is understood to be signed up for a job in the London area. Since announcing its first purchases in August 2008 the company has been on a £20 million plus spending spree and has added a 1,250 tonne CC6800 for delivery next year, two 600 tonne CC2800-1, the first of which should arrive later this month and a 600 tonne Liebherr LR1600/2 for delivery towards the end of this year.

The heavy crawler cranes will help the company take advantage of the major wind power projects in the UK, while providing it with some international potential on large projects.
