Matilsa to enter the UK market

Matilsa the Zaragoza based Access company are expected to announce the launch of its aerial lift range and the appointment of a distributor in the UK at or just prior to the start of Bauma next week.

The company has been in the Access business for many years originally as a rental company and importer of used aerials into Spain. Many second hand lifts from UK fleets have passed through their hands as they specialize in older units which are blasted and rebuilt and then sold on to end users and rental companies. If you ever wondered what happened to all the old UK Benford scissor lifts from the late 80’s, we can tell you that most were rebuilt or rather re-engineered, by Matilsa and sold in Spain!

With the rental and rebuild experience Matilsa began to build its own products such as small articulated trailer lifts and then a 12m self propelled boom of similar design to those produced by Nifty and UpRight. Initially the new production was targeted at companies in the Iberian peninsula, but last year the company exhibited at Intermat and began to export. This year they will be at Bauma and their export efforts are gathering pace.
