Overload device for harbours

German based electronics company, Tecsis is launching a new overload system at TOC in Bremen in mid June, designed specifically for harbour lifting equipment applications, including harbour cranes, reach stackers, straddle carriers and container cranes.

The new ECPS system can monitor a wide range of crucial parameters to detect overload situations. The system comprises a central electronic unit and a number of transducers, which are integrated at different positions on the crane. For example F5308 load pins can replace existing bolts or pins to provide loading feedback to the central unit.

The force transducers are equipped with the thin-film sensors, which ensure excellent creep properties, high precision and reliability. The pins are built to IP69k protection levels and are also available in ATEX version for explosive environments.

The hardware and software of the central unit has a modular design, which allows easy adaptation to suit various applications. The system can be configured and put into operation with a PC software or an optional keypad and the build-in text display.

The system automatically runs regular auto-check routines of the software and monitors the safety relays, guaranteeing the required level of operational reliability and safety. Interfaces for Profibus and CAN are available as an option.

Depending on the application the system can fulfil the requirements up-to performance level e according to ISO 13849-1.
