Sarens buys Rigging International

Belgium based crane and heavy lift company, Sarens has acquired California based heavy lift company, Rigging International.

Sarens refers to the acquisition of all outstanding shares in Rigging as “ a strategic alliance”. Rigging International will continue to operate under its present name and be operated by the current management team.

Sarens says that the alliance will provide it with an entry into the US market along with gaining greater international coverage, while “Rigging International’s position is similarly strengthened domestically and worldwide.”

Rigging International was established in 1969 in Almeda, California, while Sarens of Wolvertem, Belgium, was founded in 1955 and currently operates in 25 countries, with regular crane rental and specialist heavy lifting. It employs more than 2,100.

Rigging International has offices in Southern California, New Jersey, Ohio, Montana and Tokyo.

A statement from Sarens said: “Despite the worldwide economical recession the Sarens Group made this move to establish itself as a premier league player on the North American market of heavy lift. We are convinced that this move will sustain future growth of the group.”
