RSC promotes Hobson

RSC Equipment Rental, one of the largest rental companies in North America, has appointed Phillip H. Hobson, currently senior vice president, corporate operations, has been promoted to senior vice president, operations for the company’s western division.

David Ledlow who for the past five months has managed all field operations on a temporary basis, will return to managing the Eastern division, a role he fulfilled from 1996 to 2000 – prior to taking over the western division.

RSC chief executive Erik Olsson, said: "We are very pleased to have Phil accept this critical role within the company, he has a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and leading innovation that has made a lasting, positive impact on the way we do business. He is a well-respected leader and has a reputation for driving results and challenging the status quo. Hobson joined the company in 1998, has been responsible for a wide range of duties, from internal auditing to process improvement to his current role leading marketing, sales, innovation, product management, information technology, and the managed services group.

Hobson will report to Olsson and will continue to be based at the company's corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
