Genies for Ryan

Ryanair the budget airline has purchased six new Genie self propelled aerial lifts for its Stansted, UK, maintenance facility.

The order included a 45ft platform height, Genie Z45/25J Bi-Energy which can work on battery power inside the hanger on inspections and then switch over to diesel power outside on the ramp and around the building.

Most of the other units were Genie GS2032 narrow Aisle scissor lifts which are used for general inspection and repair work around Ryan’s largely Boeing fleet.

James Caney (R) of Platform Sales & Hire hands over the new lifts to Ryan Air.

The lifts were sold, modified and delivered by Leighton Buzzard based Platform Sales & Hire which fitted all of the machines with marker lights and spotlights allowing them to work outside on the aircraft ramps and around the airport apron, as well as in the hanger.

The deal by Platform sales follows a similar order From Easy Jet, the UK based budget airline for its Luton and Liverpool maintenance hubs.
