Hird gains CPCS A66

Peter Hird and Sons, the Yorkshire, based mini crane and access rental company has become a fully accredited test centre for the new CPCS A66 training scheme, allowing candidates to take both theoretical and practical technical tests at its test centre.

Hird has also gained approval to run the new CPCS category A66 Compact Cranes category to provide both novice and experienced operators with the skills and knowledge to pass the technical test in this new CPCS category.

Hird can provide training for the following courses: Appointed Person, Crane Supervisor, Mobile Crane, Crawler Crane, Slinger Signaller, Dumper, Mini Digger, MEWP (Scissor Lift & Boom), Rough Terrain Masted and Telescopic fork truck.

Richard Dainty, training manager for Hird said: “We are delighted with the news and can’t wait to get the new training courses up and running. The changes have meant that the course content and durations have changed slightly on some categories, giving the candidates more practical training time. This together with our expert instruction and first class facilities will make successful candidates safer and more efficient operators”.

Hird claims to have Europe’s largest rental fleet of Valla pick and carry cranes and has recently added a number of Jekko spider cranes to the fleet.
