Hertz acquires in Canada
Hertz's equipment/s Canadian subsidiary Matthews Equipment, has acquired the assets and rental business of Irving Industrial Rentals (IIR), of Saint John, New Brunswick. IIR, which has focussed on the industrial market sector, will significantly boost Matthews' presence in the New Brunswick region.
IIR was founded in 1998 and operates an extensive industrial product line that includes aerial work platforms, forklifts, compressors, welders, generators, heaters, light towers and numerous other products.
IIR was acquired from the J.D. Irving Group for an undisclosed sum and will be integrated into Matthews Equipment's New Brunswick operations.
Hertz president Gerry Plescia, said: "Matthews' acquisition of Irving Industrial Rental is instrumental in the Company's continued growth in the Canadian industrial rental market. Irving Industrial Rental has a solid reputation throughout Atlantic Canada and will enhance Matthews' efforts to be the first choice equipment rental provider for the industrial market in Eastern Canada.”
