The return of the Volga boatmen

A group of crane and access anglers have recently returned from a trip to Russia, where they caught more than fish. The group that organises an adventurous fishing trip every year, went into the Russian Artic circle this year to fish for the Atlantic salmon on the remote River Pana.

The group managed to catch around 200 salmon in addition to catching Grayling and Pike, but they turned into the prey of “mosquito’s as large as blackbirds and black flies which could teach the National Blood Transfusion Service new methods of extracting their vital juices”.
