Mammoet to expand in OZ
Mammoet Australia will complete the acquisition of Hercules Crane Hire of Leonora, Western Australia this week.
The deal which was agreed several weeks ago will officially close on Wednesday July 29th.
Herkules managing director Greg Roberts will remain with the company, becoming managing director of Hercules Crane Hire, a division of Mammoet Australia.
Hercules will will also shortly commence operations in Karratha, in support of Mammoet‘s project operation at Woodside’s Pluto Project and to provide a quality option to other clients in that region.
Hercules was founded by Roberts in 1995 and now has locations in Leonora, Newman and Port Hedland, its main office. In addition to an extensive fleet of mobile cranes largely supplied by Terex Franna and Liebherr, with lift capacities to 400 tonnes, it runs a heavy lift division.
Mammoet Australia is part of the group’s Asia Pacific region and is based in Hemmant, a suburb of Brisbane Queensland. The Hercules acquisition will substantially beef up its presence in the West.
In a statement released this morning Mammoet said: "Hercules Crane Hire is a strategic addition to Mammoet Australia’s business. The acquisition will extend Mammoet’s presence within WA and increase the company’s client base. Mammoet will build upon Hercules Crane Hire’s customer relationships by maintaining and increasing the level of service already provided; along with a strong focus on safety and zero tolerance to harm."
