Roy Wren 1932 – 2009
With great sadness we report the death of Roy Wren, one of the UK crane industries most well known and respected characters.
Roy departed on the 29th July just one day before his 77th birthday. He had been gravely ill for some months, which he bore with great strength and character.

A thanksgiving service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday 6th August at 11.00 am at Emmanuel Church, Laindon Road, Billericay, Essex, to which the family invites all who knew Roy.
Wren will be known to most from his days as a regional sales manager for Grove and Coles and as the speech-master/master of ceremonies at the Cranes & Access - Crane Dinners from the late 1990’s.
He was always a very consistent, likeable and professional person and loved his cranes, long after he had retired he continued to subscribe to Cranes & Access and would often call the editorial office with more details and a yarn if he saw one of the cranes that he had sold in the magazine.
A more detailed overview of Roy Wren’s life will be carried in the next issue of Cranes & Access.
