Overhead accident

Workplace Standards Tasmania is investigating a fatal accident with an aerial lift that occurred last week at the Nyrstar zinc works in Hobart, Tasmania.

Reports claim that the operator, a contractor, suffered head injuries after hitting and then becoming trapped between an overhead obstacle of a building and his lift. The man had been driving the aerial lift at the time, he died later in hospital.

No further details are available at this time, the accident occurred last Monday – August 3ed.
