Palfinger launches smaller truck mounted platform

Palfinger has launched the new 22 metre P220B, a smaller version of its 26 metre P260B launched at Intermat. The new platform has a maximum outreach of 14.5 metres due to its lightweight aluminium construction.

The new Palfinger P220B

The telescopic boom is constructed precision extruded aluminium profiles with all the hydraulic and electrical components protected inside the unit reducing damage. A feature of the new P 220 B is a multi-step, automatic speed increase which ensures that there is always sufficient hydraulic oil available for maximum speed of each function.

The aluminum work basket has a slewing range of 180 degrees and the outreach is adjusted automatically according to the load in the basket.

Standard functions include outrigger control from the work basket, automatic outrigger system and set-up levelling, as well as automatic return to the transport position, including retraction of the outriggers.

Numerous safety features two downstream shut-off valves on the lifting arm cylinder and on each stabiliser cylinder, an integrated ground clearance wheel monitoring system, safety lugs in the workman basket, an optional insulated basket and electronic levelling of the basket’s pitch when the vehicle is in an inclined position.

The variable width hydraulic outriggers are controlled from the basket with various programmable stabiliser modes including fully extended, fully retracted and one side extended. It is also possible for the P220B to operation without outriggers with a restricted working range.
