The new model, which was announced in May 2008, is based on Bronto’s HLA101 with a similar overall length of just under 17 metres. The extra height comes from marginally extending each of the five sections of the lower boom and redesigning the jib with a bend in it to compensate for the slightly longer stowed boom.

Oliwer Sven Dahms (L) and Reinhard Willenbrock (R) of Platformers’ Days welcome Ari Niilola of Janneniska on the arrival of the Bronto Skylift HLA104 in Hohenroda.
The machine retain the 2.55 metres overall width of the 101 and is close to the 101’s total weight of 62 tonnes. Outreach is unaffected at 28 metres, although this will now be available at a greater height – closer to 64 metres.
