Matexpo kicks off

Belgium’s largest equipment exhibition opened its doors this week in Kortrijk with plenty of crane and access equipment on show.

Brands represented included Palfinger, JLG, Teupen, Sennebogen, UpRight, Grove, Arcomet, Comansa, Oil & Steel, Lionlift, Manitou, GSR, Nagano, Aichi, Ruthmann, Merlo, Potain, CTE, Bizzocchi, Maeda, Ormig, Liebherr, and Bronto.

There is a good selection of cranes, platforms and telehandlers on show, the big yellow truck mount is a 46m Bronto


As expected there were few new product launches at the show, but plenty of recently unveiled ones for the local visitors to check out.

One of the larger stands was taken up by Grove and Potain distributor, BLE which had the new Grove GCK 3045 city crane on display, along with a GMK 4100L and RT 880 E and Potain self erecting tower cranes.

Another large exhibitor was Heli with the new mini Maeda MC174 ultra compact spider crane, several models from UpRight including the XT24AL trailer mounted scissor lift.

Palfinger’s local distributor Deon had a 26 metre Palfinger P260B telescopic truck mounted lift on a 3.5 tonne chassis.

Not to be out done Ruthmann unveiled details of its new generation TB truck mounted lifts also shown at Platformer Days last weekend. The range will include a 27 metre unit mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis, along with 23, 20 and 19 metre versions all on 3.5 tonne trucks and with features such as an all steel boom and 110 degree articulating jibs.

While the first day was very quiet yesterday picked up considerably with a reasonable flow of visitors. The show runs until Sunday at the Kortrijk exhibition centre.
