Bobcat to consolidate production
Bobcat the manufacturer of skid steer, mini excavators and telehandlers, is to consolidate all of its North American production at its original plant in Gwinner, North Dakota by the end of this year.
The move will mean that all production at its Bismarck, North Dakota plant will cease with 390 of the 475 production jobs being transferred to Gwinner.
Bobcat produces its mini excavators, utility truck, mini tracked loaders and the S70 skid-steer loader in Bismarck, while all other Bobcat skid-steer loaders are built in Gwinner. Telehandlers are all built in Europe.

The Gwinner location dates back to Bobcat’s origins in 1958, while the Bismarck plant was acquired in 1974 when Bobcat then owned by Melroe bought Kirschmann Manufacturing an agricultural equipment producer.
